My one
This is how we claim ownership over something, especially when you need to make it crystal clear that it belongs to you and not someone else. It has that extra punch of 'don't touch' that the standard 'mine' just doesn't quite carry.
Origin
Derived from the English grammar rules of possession, given a local twist by simply tacking 'one' to the end to sharpen the distinction.
Usage Examples
"Eh, that charger is my one, hor. Donβt anyhow take ah."
"Wah why your phone case same as mine? Mine blue one, this my one lah."
"θ° touch my one? I just put on the table only sia."

When you're at a crowded hawker centre and you spy the last empty table, you chup it quick before someone else swoops in β usually by dumping your packet of tissue or umbrella on the seat so everyone knows it's taken.
kope
To 'kope' is to pull a sneaky heist on something small, like 'borrowing' the extra sambal packets or grabbing the last decent chair at the hawker centre. It is less about being a hardened criminal and more about being a bit kiasu with unclaimed goods.
kiasu
The national obsession with being first in line, grabbing the best seats, or getting the most freebies before anyone else can. Even if you don't really want it, the fear of 'losing out' makes you snap it up anyway just to feel safe.
